random island pictures

These are of us at various places on the island. There is a small market (not a very good market, but with a few places to eat) near our work beach, so we stopped for breakfast a couple of times. That's the one with the pretty green walls. The you will notice Ginger and me posed under a palm tree. Those were taken at the turtle ranch. Apparently, they used to have under-water corrals built for the turtles, like fenced in parts of the water. And you could swim with the turtles. Then the caretakers told us that the underwater fences got destroyed in a hurricane, so they are trying to rebuild them eventually. Also, we kept seeing these weird little structures on posts. They looked kind of like little bird houses or pie tins and paper. Ginger HAD to investigate and it turns out they are bug catchers. They are part of some insect experiment. And the last is from a part of the island that looks like what I imagine the Scottish Highlands to look like (except a lot warmer).
