a few more from the nunnery section




The second picture here is one of my top 5 favorite pictures of the whole trip. Note the pyramid in the background. All three of these photos were taken inside the section called the nunnery. The first one is of a section that was used as a residential area for some of the elite of the city. As you can see, the ancient Maya were very small, short people. In fact, the modern Maya are pretty short. At least the older ones seem to be. Ginger and I saw more than one older man or woman who only came up to our waists. No kidding. I think diet has a lot to do with it. But, no doubt, the pyramids and buildings and rooms were definitely not built with me and Ginger in mind.
