Sick of FaceBook

I would much rather just keep this little blog with nobody reading it than deal with facebook crap.
Here I am in Mobile, AL. I went to see Ginger and Mommy. Ginger and her friend Amy ran in the Azalea Trail Run, a 10k thingy. It was fun. Unfortunately, Mommy's dog was dying - we thought- and I missed seeing Ginger fly across the finish line.
The dog lived.
But it was a very good trip away from the horrors of thesis writing here.
I finished my thesis, btw, and passed my defense and now am just waiting to get it back from the grad school so I can make the necessary corrections. Blah blah blah. Everything seems blah today.

Ben and Mary -the Cinderella Team

This is really the last Cinderella Coach set of pictures. The horse's name was Ben and the driver's name was Mary. Or so she said.

Final Cinderella Ride pictures

I think these are the last of the carriage ride pictures that I'll post. I obviously loved this ride.

NFL star and us

I am not much of a sports fan. But apparently this guy, Chris Gray, has had the longest NFL career of anybody from the Homewood High School class of '88. He's a heavy dude, but we managed to lift him anyway :)

Class of '88!

Due to Luis's not being able to attend, I accompanied Ginger to her 20th high school reunion. And let me tell you it was FUN!!!!
I found out that my class (class of '86) DID have a 20th reunion but nobody told me about it. Hmmmph! I'd rather be a member of the class of '88 anyway!

If you think you recognise the people in the picture, you do!!!!

Those canny Inca...

This is totally cool! Ginger took pictures of this piece of cloth that holds the worlds record for number of threads per inch. And it was made between 1200 and 1532 CE. Nobody today can even do this. It boggles the mind.

Llama mania

This is Ginger at, I think, the town of...blimey! I can't think of it... anyway, these llamas just might be alpacas. But they sure are cute, anyway!

Ginger and Luis at Macchu Picchu

So, my sister and her husband went to Peru without me. Waaaaahhhh waaahhh waaahhh!!!! Ok, so they totally needed to go so G could meet Luis's parents. So while there, they went to some Inca ruins, most famous of which is Macchu Picchu. Macchu Picchu was just elected one of the Seven Wonders of the World. I don't know much about it, and, at the risk of getting it all wrong, I'll just say that I THINK that this site was the most sacred city of the Inca and I did read that when the spanish were looting and pillaging, the locals hid the roads to the city and feigned ignorance of its existance so it survived the purge. Anyway, it's a spectacular place (judging by the pictures, anyway). And I want to go there TOOOOOOO!!!!
