Key West Trip

Well, Ginger has a friend who is getting married in Key West at the end of June and I'm not gonna go. Waaaaaa! I just don't have the money and it sucks so bad to be poor, but, there ya go. Gilligan has to go to the vet at the beginning of July and I can't do both. So I decided to just do a look back at some of my recent vacations with Ginger in my upcoming blog series: Since I can't go to the Keys...

Those Waskally Wabbits

Note closely the first photo. When I left to visit my mother this weekend, there was a pretty little row of pink petunias that disappeared in my absence. A closer investigation (note photo #2) reveals the cause, if not the culprit. Something ate them. And I have a strong hunch that that something was a rabbit. Perhaps one of the FOUR rabbits I saw in my yard last week? Now that I'm back, Gilligan will once again take up residence at home and, hopefully, this will solve the problem.

"a grown man don't wear sandals"

One of the hazards of living on my street is the seasonal migratory visit from drunken cousins. I couldn't get to my camera in time to catch this diatribe in its full glory, but hopefully you'll get the gist of it. I have more footage of Brian in high form, but I don't know how much to post.

Baby Donkeys!

Welcome two new donkeys to Deason Farms! Young Jasper "Jap" Jones and young Buster "Bus" Jones are healthy baby jacks. So far Bus is the more playful of the two, as Jap's mother won't let anybody get near him to pet him. Daddy sits out by the gate and just watches them sometimes (note the chair in one of the pictures).

Froggie love

Well, it's that time of year again. The frogs are mating in my kiddie pool and I am forced to become what I like to think of as the Frog-eban Morality Police. I have nothing personal against the frogs, but I don't want them spawning in my kiddie pool! So I try to keep the ample armies of amorous amphibians at bay with flashlight light. It doesn't work, but at least I try. And they make enough noise out there to raise the dead.

Well, the title says it all.

Herpin' with Ginger

Ginger and Luis came to visit. Ginger has become fascinated with snakes and other reptiles and amphibians and has gone so far as to purchase a professional snake stick with which to examine the specimens that she finds in the woods. She took me out hunting snakes on a daily basis while she was here. Unfortunately we never found anything exciting. She did manage to find one snake and it almost doesn't count because it's not big enough to even use the snake stick on. We got some cool pictures of it, though. Feast your eyes on the dreaded worm snake.
