Christmas Door Prize 2007
I realized it's been a while since I complained about shit. So, how about my utter failure to even PLACE in the Christmas Door Decoration competition at work!?!?! Check out this beauteous door. It was gorgeous, with little lights hidden behind the paper-flower tree. And free candycanes to bribe judges. Honestly, there was not another door in the whole place that could come anywhere close to mine in originality and aesthetic fervor. I would post some pictures of the other doors, but I don't want to get all cocky about how great mine was. Or maybe I do?....Nah. Anyway, this was the second, nay, the third door prize at work that I lost. Hopefully I won't be there next chirstmas so I won't have to go through this emotional trauma again.
Egyptology, here I come!

Parade Action 2008
This was the Order of Mystic Magnolias parade on Monday night in Fairhope, AL. If you don't blink, you can see me catch some beads in my left hand as I film with my right.
Happy Mardi Gras!
That's Fat Tuesday for all you monolingual Anglophones. And just in case anybody from my work happens to read this, I AM helping my mother. She has to have somebody to set up and take down the antibiotic IV drip every 6 hours. She can't do it by herself. I am the ONLY one who is available to do it. I am NOT skipping work to just hang out and have a good time - it just looks that way :)

Mommy walking
This is so cool! Just over 2 months after surgery, here is Mommy in her athletic gear, walking like a pro. Sam is "helping."

Mardi Gras record
I think I now hold the record for the largest stuffed animal ever caught from a Mardi Gras parade float! I was at the Mystic Order of Shadow Barons parade in Daphne Alabama and this giant orangutan was thrown at me, nearly knocking me to the ground. Two kids on either side of me tried to sweet-talk me out of it, but screw them, I've never caught anything so cool at a Mardi Gras parade before!
I have no idea what I'll do with it, but I'll keep it for a while.
